About Pastor John & Gladys Epps, Pastor Epps first felt the calling of the Lord when he was eight years old. He began preaching at Church of God churches throughout South Carolina. At the age of nine, he preached under a 10,000 seat gospel tent with Rev. A.A. Allen in Jacksonville, Florida. When he was fourteen, he and his family moved to Florida and he began preaching with Rev. Leroy Jenkins, Rev. David Terrell, Rev. Oral Roberts and many others. While holding a revival meeting in 1965 for the Pentecostal Church of God in Tampa, Florida,he met his wife, Gladys, at the age of 21. Together, they spent the next 17 years traveling around the country with their two daughters, Tina and Becky, evangelizing for the Lord. During this time Pastor Epps made ten ministry trips to Jamaica and visited Ontario twice. Those were happy, but often trying years for his family but God always provided for their needs. In 1982, Pastor Epps and his wife accepted an invitation to pastor the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Plant City, Florida. The Lord opened the door for him and his family to settle down and make an impact in the local community. They knew they would miss the evangelistic field but trusted in the Lord and followed his calling. Since that time, God has richly blessed Pastor Epps, his family and the church. Pastor John Epps and Pastor Gladys Epps have been senior pastors of the Full Gospel Tabernacle since 1982. Pastor Gladys Epps was ordained through Life Christian University in 1996. Pastor Gladys plays the Hammond organ for all our services. She is a prayer warrior, Sunday School teacher, minister of the gospel, and a faithful wife and mother. They have three lovely daughters who love the Lord. Tina, who attended bible college and became an ordained minister and now serves as assistant pastor and praise team leader. Becky, who sings on the praise and worship team, teaches Sunday School and is a worker in the ministry of helps. Both are always ready to help their mom and dad in any capacity needed. Their youngest daughter, Sherry, has been raised around FGT her entire life. She regrets not having a chance to travel on the evangelistic field with her older sisters. Even at a young age, she knew her life's calling was in the ministry. She is the church drummer and sings both solo and with the praise and worship team. One thing Sherry is not afraid to do is to preach, when the Lord leads. All three of Pastor Epps' daughters are married to wonderful husbands who love and serve the Lord. Pastor Epps and his wife, Gladys, have 6 grandchildren who fill their life with much joy, as they watch them walk through the doors of the Full Gospel Tabernacle.
